Harley-Davidson Street 500/750 Reflector Recall
Harley-Davidson is recalling 8,904 XG500 and XG750 Street motorcycles that may have been manufactured without a rear reflector assembly.
The missing reflector could potentially reduce the vehicle’s visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Without the reflector, these motorcycles also fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”
The affected motorcycles are the XG500, manufactured between January 28, 2014, to March 9, 2015, and the XG750 manufactured between May 12, 2014, to March 9, 2015. Harley-Davidson will notify owners and dealers will install a rear reflector assembly free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in April 2015.
For more information on the reflector recall, owners of affected models may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464 quoting the recall number 0620.
