Indian Scout Brake Recall
Indian is recalling 806 Scout motorcycles manufactured between May 12th, 2014 and February 13th, 2015 due to a problem with the rear brake master cylinder.
The problem appears to be due to an assembly or machining error that could result in the piston retaining ring not being fully secured. This could lead to a full or partial loss of rear braking power, lengthening the distance needed to slow or stop the motorcycle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Indian will notify owners and dealers will inspect and replace the rear brake master cylinder, as necessary.
The recall is expected to begin in March 2015. Owners can also contact the Indian Motorcycle Consumer Service Department at 1-877-204-3697. The Indian Scout brake recall number is I-15-01 A/B.
